Connecting Tellet with participant recruitment platforms.
Research panels are databases of people who participate in studies. Panel integration connects Tellet to external recruitment panels for automated participant routing and completion tracking.
The same token and redirect mechanism also covers a related case: routing respondents from a quantitative survey platform, such as Nfield or Dimensions, into a Converser interview mid-survey and back again with their respondent ID intact. See Nfield and Dimensions Mid-Survey Handoff below.
Each panel setup holds three redirect links you can configure (plus one reserved for future use):
Confirmation Link — Required: Yes; Purpose: Where participants go after successfully completing the interview. The panel uses this to confirm completion and process payment.
Screened Out Link — Required: No; Purpose: Where participants go if they don't qualify on your screening questions. Tells the panel the participant was disqualified, so they receive a partial (screening) fee instead of the full completion fee.
Quota Full Link — Required: No; Purpose: Where participants go when your study has already collected enough responses. Tells the panel the participant couldn't complete through no fault of their own.
Participants are automatically redirected to whichever of these links matches their outcome, the same way they're redirected after completion: a brief screen with a countdown, then the redirect, with an option to cancel or copy the link instead.
Panel integration automatically:
Sends participants from panel to Tellet
Tracks completion using tokens
Redirects participants to the correct link based on outcome
Enables automatic payment by panel
Use panel integration for:
Recruiting through research panel providers
Automatic completion tracking
Comparing multiple recruitment sources
Routing respondents from a quantitative survey platform (Nfield, Dimensions, and similar) into a Converser interview mid-survey and back with their respondent ID
Don't use for:
Self-recruited participants (use direct link or QR code)
Internal research (use sharing options)
Panel sends participant with unique token
Panel link: https://chat.tellet.ai/PROJECT?participant_id=ABC123
Token captured: ABC123
Participant completes interview in Tellet
Tellet stores token with responses
Tellet redirects back to panel
Your completion link template: https://panel.com/complete?id=--PARTICIPANTID--
Actual redirect: https://panel.com/complete?id=ABC123
Panel confirms completion
Verifies token matches
Credits participant account
Processes payment
This all happens automatically — no manual verification is needed.
Tellet uses placeholders in redirect URLs that get replaced with actual values.
--PARTICIPANTID-- — Replaced With: Participant's unique token; Source Parameter: participant_id from chat link; Example: ABC123
--PROJECTID-- — Replaced With: Panel's project identifier; Source Parameter: project_id from chat link; Example: PROJ-2024-001
Panels use variables in their chat link template:
${token} - Most common: participant identifier
${pid} - Alternative format
${respondent_id} - Alternative format
${project_id} - Project identifier
Example chat link template:
https://chat.tellet.ai/PROJECT?participant_id=${token}&project_id=${project_id}
Completion — Chat Link: ?participant_id=ABC123; Redirect Link: panel.com/complete?id=--PARTICIPANTID--; Tellet Redirects To: panel.com/complete?id=ABC123
Screened Out — Chat Link: ?participant_id=ABC123; Redirect Link: panel.com/screenout?id=--PARTICIPANTID--; Tellet Redirects To: panel.com/screenout?id=ABC123
Quota Full — Chat Link: ?participant_id=ABC123; Redirect Link: panel.com/quota?id=--PARTICIPANTID--; Tellet Redirects To: panel.com/quota?id=ABC123
Both Placeholders — Chat Link: ?participant_id=ABC123&project_id=PROJ-001; Redirect Link: panel.com/complete?pid=--PARTICIPANTID--&proj=--PROJECTID--; Tellet Redirects To: panel.com/complete?pid=ABC123&proj=PROJ-001
Fixed parameter names: the chat link must use participant_id (for --PARTICIPANTID--) and project_id (for --PROJECTID--)
Case sensitive: use exactly --PARTICIPANTID-- and --PROJECTID--
Use each placeholder once per URL: only the first occurrence of a placeholder is replaced
No default values: if the parameter isn't provided, the placeholder is left as-is
Works in all redirect link types: completion, screened out, quota full
Go to project → Share tab
Toggle Panel Integration to ON
Fill out panel form
Copy panel-specific interview link
Paste into panel study setup
Nickname for this panel setup.
Examples:
"Panel Provider Main Study"
"Panel Provider Batch 1"
"Panel Provider Cohort A"
Note: Tellet turns the panel name into a link tag (e.g., "Panel Provider Main Study" becomes "panelProviderMainStudy" in links)
Where to redirect participants after successful completion.
Get from: Panel's study setup page
Common formats:
Example A: https://panel-provider.com/complete?id=--PARTICIPANTID--
Example B: https://research-panel.com/submissions/complete?cc=--PARTICIPANTID--
Example C: https://passback.panel.com/Survey/Complete?ProjectToken=--PARTICIPANTID--
Important: Replace panel's variable placeholder (like ${token}, XXXXX, or [PID]) with --PARTICIPANTID--
Where to redirect participants who don't qualify.
When needed: Only if using screening questions
Purpose: Tells panel "this person didn't qualify" so they receive screening fee instead of full payment
Common format: https://panel-provider.com/submissions/screenout?cc=--PARTICIPANTID--
Once set, participants who are disqualified are automatically redirected to this link, the same way they're redirected after completing the interview.
Where to redirect participants when study is full.
When needed: If panels overrecruit or study might fill quickly
Purpose: Informs panel participant couldn't participate through no fault of their own
When the Quota Full Link is used: Once your study has collected enough responses, Tellet stops accepting new participants and sends anyone arriving through a panel link to that panel's Quota Full Link. To allow for people who start but don't finish, Tellet keeps the study open a little past your target (about 10% more) before closing it, so your final completed count lands close to the number you set. Once set, participants who hit the quota are automatically redirected to this link, the same way they're redirected after completing the interview.
Where to redirect participants flagged for low quality responses.
Status: Reserved for future use - detection system not yet active
Recommendation: Leave empty initially
With Auto Redirect ON (Recommended):
Immediately redirected to panel after completion, being screened out, or hitting quota
Fastest, smoothest experience
Standard for professional panels
With Auto Redirect OFF:
Sees "Thank you" page with link
Must click link to return
Shows debrief information
Recommendation: Keep ON for panel studies
When panel integration is set up, Tellet creates a unique link for that panel:
Regular interview link:
https://chat.tellet.ai/abc123xyz
Panel-specific link:
https://chat.tellet.ai/abc123xyz?source=panelProviderMainStudy
The ?source= parameter identifies the participant source, determines which completion link to use, and tracks panel performance.
Critical: Use the panel-specific link (with ?source=) in panel study setup, not the regular link.
You can set up multiple panels for the same interview.
Recruit faster (reach target sooner)
Compare quality between panels
Diversify sample demographics
Balance premium and budget panels
Set up first panel
Click Add Panel button
Fill form for second panel
Each panel gets unique link
Example:
Panel A — Provider Name: "Panel A Cohort A"; Link: ...?source=panelACohortA; Confirmation Link: Panel A URL
Panel B — Provider Name: "Panel B Cohort B"; Link: ...?source=panelBCohortB; Confirmation Link: Panel B URL
Use "Panel Name + Cohort/Batch ID"
Example: "Panel Provider March 2024" and "Panel Provider April 2024"
Must be unique (cannot have same provider name after processing)
Create Tellet interview - Complete fields, test, publish
Enable panel integration - Share tab → Toggle Panel Integration ON
Create Panel Provider study - Set name, description, duration, reward
Get Panel Provider completion URL - Copy from Panel Provider study settings
Fill Tellet panel form:
Provider Name: "Panel Provider March Study"
Confirmation Link: Paste Panel Provider URL
Auto Redirect: ON
Save
Copy Tellet panel link - https://chat.tellet.ai/abc123xyz?source=panelProviderMarchStudy
Paste in Panel Provider - Add to "Study Link" field in Panel Provider
Test complete flow - Use Panel Provider preview to verify redirect works
Launch study - Monitor participants and completion
Human8 uses a non-standard token flow that requires two additional URL parameters: UniqueIdentifier and state. When both are present in the participant's URL, Tellet appends them directly to the confirmation link rather than relying on the --PARTICIPANTID-- placeholder alone.
Human8 passes parameters like this:
https://chat.tellet.ai/PROJECT_ID?UniqueIdentifier=ABC123&state=XYZ789&source=human8Study
When the participant completes the interview, Tellet builds the confirmation link as follows:
Start with the stored confirmation link (e.g., https://human8.com/complete)
Append ?UniqueIdentifier=ABC123&state=XYZ789
Apply any --PARTICIPANTID-- and --PROJECTID-- placeholder replacements
The resulting redirect URL will be:
https://human8.com/complete?UniqueIdentifier=ABC123&state=XYZ789
Configure the panel form as normal (see Setup above). In the chat link template you provide to Human8, ensure UniqueIdentifier and state are passed as URL parameters using Human8's variable syntax:
https://chat.tellet.ai/PROJECT_ID?UniqueIdentifier=${UniqueIdentifier}&state=${state}&source=human8StudyName
No changes to the confirmation link format are required — the UniqueIdentifier and state parameters are appended automatically when present.
Nfield and Dimensions studies often need to send a respondent out of the running survey into a Converser interview partway through, then bring them back to resume the survey with their original respondent ID. This uses the same token flow as any other panel integration: the confirmation link just points back at your survey instead of at a panel.
Your survey redirects the respondent to the panel-specific Tellet link, appending their respondent ID as participant_id:
https://chat.tellet.ai/PROJECT_ID?source=nfieldWave1&participant_id=RESP001
Tellet captures RESP001 and stores it as the token for that conversation.
When the respondent finishes the Converser interview, Tellet redirects them to your Confirmation Link with --PARTICIPANTID-- replaced by RESP001, so your survey can pick the session back up at the right point:
https://your-survey-domain.com/resume?RespondentKey=RESP001
Configure the panel form as described in Setup above:
Provider Name: something that identifies the survey, e.g. "Nfield Wave 1" or "Dimensions Study A"
Confirmation Link: the URL your survey platform uses to resume the respondent's session, with --PARTICIPANTID-- in place of the respondent ID parameter, e.g. https://your-survey-domain.com/resume?RespondentKey=--PARTICIPANTID--
Screened Out / Quota Full Links: optional, only needed if the Converser interview itself has screening or quota logic
Auto Redirect: ON, so respondents return to the survey immediately
Any other parameter your survey passes on the way in, such as project_id or a custom field, works the same way as with any panel: capture it in the chat link, reference it with --PARTICIPANTID-- / --PROJECTID-- in the confirmation link, or leave it as stored metadata for export.
This pattern works for any survey or CATI/CAWI platform that can redirect a respondent to an external URL and resume with a returned parameter, not only Nfield and Dimensions. For embedding a Converser interview directly inside a survey page instead of redirecting away from it, see Survey Embedding.
Check:
Auto Redirect is ON
Confirmation link is correct (no typos)
Panel provided correct URL
Gave panel the panel-specific link (with ?source=)
Test: Complete interview yourself and verify redirect works
Check:
Each panel has unique provider name
Each panel was given their specific link (different ?source=)
Each panel's confirmation link is correct
Test: Complete interview using each panel's link
Error: "Provider name must be unique"
Two panel names become identical after processing.
Problem example:
Panel 1: "Testing Time"
Panel 2: "TestingTime"
Both become "testingTime" internally
Solution: Make names more distinct:
Panel 1: "Testing Time Cohort A"
Panel 2: "Testing Time Cohort B"
Check:
Confirmation link is correct
Panel service is working
Link wasn't changed mid-study
Participant waited for redirect (takes a second)
Action: Contact panel support with participant ID, study ID, completion time
Changing provider name changes the link.
Process:
Change name in Tellet → Save
Copy new interview link
Update link in panel study settings
Important: Only change before launching or between batches - not during active studies
Panel must pass the participant_id parameter to fill --PARTICIPANTID--
Pass project_id to fill --PROJECTID-- (optional)
Additional parameters are optional
All placeholders (--PARTICIPANTID-- and --PROJECTID--) work in:
Completion link
Screened out link
Quota full link
Panel-specific links use query parameter format:
https://chat.tellet.ai/PROJECT_ID?source=PROVIDER_NAME&other=params
Spaces and punctuation are removed and the words are joined together
Must be unique after processing
Example: "Panel Provider Main Study" → "panelProviderMainStudy"
