Sets maximum number of completed interviews for your project.
Required: Yes
Type: Positive whole number
The configured max is not a hard cap: the system allows up to 10% more respondents than the number you set before blocking new participants. Set a max of 100, and the link stays active until 110 completed interviews are recorded.
This accounts for panel delivery timing — panel providers may send participants simultaneously, and it isn't always possible to stop delivery at exactly the configured number, so the extra capacity helps avoid under-delivery. When coordinating with a panel provider, account for this buffer: a panel order for exactly 100 completes will accept up to 110 before closing.
Validation: On a published project, the new number must be the same as or higher than the current limit — it can only be increased.
If you're recruiting through a panel provider, set your panel quota to match your Tellet Max Participants — both systems enforce their own limit, and remember Tellet accepts up to 10% over your number (a 100-complete order can reach 110).
Can't save: Check that you entered a valid whole number, that you aren't trying to lower the limit on a Live project (it can only be increased), and that you have the Owner or Can Edit workspace role.
"Number of max participants can only be increased" error: The project is published, so the limit can't be lowered. Enter the same number or a higher one.
Hit quota, want more: Increase the number — the link reactivates automatically.
Only the Owner or Can Edit workspace roles can edit. By project status:
